MONOVISION


There are a number of different ways to correct presbyopic patients with contact lenses.

One way is to correct one eye for distance and the other eye for near-this is called monovision.  The patient suppresses the central vision of the eye not in focus.  For example if the patient is looking at an object in the distance they will suppress the central field in the eye with the near correction.
